The Castle Performing Arts Center proudly announces the musical “Ragtime” By the award-winning team of Flaherty & Ahrens, playwright Terrence McNally, & based on E.L. Doctorow's novel, Ragtime examines racism, immigration, & the American Dream in 1906. History teaching a timely message for our society today. Performed by 54 students from over a dozen schools on Oahu, with a professional orchestra, performances are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays November 8-13th onstage at Bright Theatre in Kaneohe.
Castle senior Isaac Scott plays Ragtime piano player Coalhouse Walker, in love with Sarah, Kapolei senior, Angeleia Ordenez. Also pursuing the American Dream, immigrant Tateh is portrayed by Mililani senior Marcus Otaka, joining historical characters such as Booker T. Washington, J.P. Morgan, and Henry Ford. Saturday Classes Began Again September 7th!
Our FREE Saturday Classes have returned! Our program was successful last semester and we are now offering four this semester! Open to all public school students in grades 4-12! While no tuition is charged, there is a $50 per class registration fee that secures your place for all the sessions of that class! Registration is first come, first serve and each class does have a limited size. Register on and search "CPAC"

8:30-9:45 am Theatre Craft Workshop for Grades 4-8 w/ Karen Meyer
Sept 7-Dec 14, 2019 8:30am-9:45am.This course for young ones with limited backstage experience and/or limited formal training. We will safely explore the backstage world of theatre building and painting set pieces, working with costumes and makeup, learning basics of light and sound and the vocabulary of being in a theatre! The #1 requested course from the students last year, this promises to be anew and different experience for all.
8:30-9:45 am Jazz Dance and Conditioning w/ Kami Wakabayashi (Grades 4-12)
Sept 7-Dec 14, 2019 8:30am-9:45am. For grades 4-12. Dance Conditioning and Technique through Broadway Jazz and musical exercise! A fun way to improve your dance skills and learn how to care for your own body! led by Kami Wakabayashi, with physical therapist, Jill Wakabayshi.
10-11:15 am Musical Theatre Workshop for grades 4-8 w/ Nyonda Lane
Sept 7-Dec 14, 2019 10 am-11:15 am. An introductory course in Musical Theatre designed for students in grades 4-8 with little or no experience. Singing, dancing and acting all come together to tell stories - that's musical theatre! Build your confidence and have fun at the same time! Led by CPAC Alumni and Kaneohe Elementary instructor Nyonda Lane.
10-11:15 am Ballet Workshop w/ Alex Durrant (Grades 4-12)
Sept 7-Dec 14, 2019 10 am-11:15 am. For grades 4-12. Ballet technique for all ages and levels. Whether you're just giving it a try, or want to practice your skills, a no pressure class, led by WCC Instructor and professional dancer Alex Durrant
11:30 am -12:45 pm Tap Dance Workshop w/ Kami Wakabayashi (Grades 4-12)
Sept 7-Dec 14, 2019 11:30 am-12:45pm. Meet those dancin' feet! A general tap class for both beginners and intermediate level students, introducing and reviewing basic steps and combinations. Tap shoes are not required but highly recommended.
